NTI Week Five: September 21-25

Welcome to another week in Noe Dance! Here is the need-to-know and a few updates for this week!

Grades Are Up To Date!

You heard that right, folks!  You can now find all your grades from Google Classroom on Infinite Campus! Here is what you need to do:
  1. Double check that everything looks right!  If something looks off...
  2. Check Google Classroom!
  3. Did I leave any comments that explain why a grade is either missing or below 100% credit?  If so, correct the mistake! Get them points!
  4. Did Ms. Amberly make a mistake? Send her a private message on that particular assignment to let her know so she can fix it!
With the end of the 6-week grading period coming up, it's important that we are monitoring our work and our progress so that we can get the best grades possible! :D

FLEX Classes!

Picture
Here are this week's FLEX class offerings! Make sure you plan ahead for the classes you are going to attend!
A few reminders about FLEX Classes:
  1. FLEX Classes (held daily at 11:30am) and Class Meetings (held at 10am once a week for each class) are two different things.  BOTH are required assignments in my class. See Google Classroom for specifics.
  2. Please attend level-appropriate FLEX classes. New dancers should not be attend advanced; seasoned dancers should not be attending beginner. Intermediate is a happy medium between both :)
  3. Make sure you are arriving on time to FLEX class. To ensure the safety of all dancers, no one will be allowed to participate if they attempt to join after 11:35am as not having a proper warmup is the #1 cause of injury in dance. Safety first and foremost! :)
I look forward to dancing with you all this week!

Extracurriculars Starting Up This Week!

Picture
The opportunities just keep getting better and better!  Please join us for any of the above dance-related extracurricular opportunities! We'd love to have you!

Want more information on each organization? Need to access the link? Check it out here!

Keep Up The Great Work!

You guys have been ROCKING this NTI experience thus far! I know it's not what we wanted, but you guys have absolutely made the best out of a less-than-ideal situation. I am so proud of you all!!!

Keep an your eyes and ears open for updates on the future of school!  The next JCPS Board Meeting discussing return-to-school details is on September 29th!

Rock on!

Welcome back to another exciting week of NTI! This week we are focusing on JAZZ DANCE!
Please make sure your kiddos PLAN AHEAD for which FLEX classes they are going to attend and that they are attending classes that are appropriate for their ability level! If you've never done a formal Jazz Dance class before, Advanced Jazz is NOT where you want to start.

Also, please make sure your kiddos arrive on time or a few minutes early to FLEX class! Since classes are so short, we kick things off FAST! For the physical safety of your kiddos, I will not allow anyone into a FLEX class once the first 5 minutes have passed as that is putting their body at risk of injury.

What if your kiddo misses their class? Or what if none of the classes work for their schedule?  Never fear, I've got options! If ever someone misses or can't make any of our FLEX class options, I send out multiple opportunities for them to make up the work at no cost to their grade.

I look forward to dancing with you all this week!

Having trouble keeping track of all the work you need to do?  Hopefully this checklist can help!

This checklist offers an easy way to keep track of your Dance work!

Details and step-by-step guidelines for how to complete each assignment can be found on Google Classroom!

Greetings Dancers!

Wondering what to expect this week as we move deeper into our content? Look no further! Below you will find a checklist of all the assignments you'll need to complete this week!

Just a heads up: we are having some technical difficulties with Collabra at the moment. While we expect that they will be resolved on Monday, August 31st, we may have to move the assignments to Google Classroom! I will keep you posted by Tuesday morning if this is the case!

Wondering what FLEX classes to take this week? Check out the calendar below! Remember to mind the level when choosing your classes:
  • Beginner (typically 6th grade) = never or rarely done this before
  • Intermediate (typically 7th grade) = some experience (1+ years)
  • Advanced (typically 8th grade) = substantial experience (2+ years)

Rock on, Dancers! I will see you in class!

Dear Noe Dance 2019-2020 Families and Students,

I am so thrilled to have you/your kiddos in my classroom this upcoming school year!  I can already tell from the incredible first week that we have (plus the great start to this week) that it's going to be one of the best we've had so far!  I have many personal goals for my teaching, and many new plans and ideas up my sleeves for our dancers to have the absolute best experiences I can bring them.  One of which is starting this email list/blog (affectionately called The Curtain Call) so that I can make sure I'm really increasing my communication with parents and families, as well as the students' access to information...such as this copy of the schedule for this week (click here to access it)!

That said, a "bit" of housekeeping!  The students have many impending deadlines coming up:
